‘What-so-Ever,’ is not the Ark-stone of the Free Will, nor the Nexus of Life. Faith is a Contract, conditional to the Holder of the Contract, outlined thoroughly in all its context, most certainly in John 14-17.
Promise: “Ask anything, I will do it,”
Condition: “If you love Me,” if you Love Him, the Ask will be to Please Him.
